Re-Opening Stores Produces Superior Return for Bankruptcy Estate
Hyper Group was engaged by Altmeyer’s Bed Bath Home’s bankruptcy trustee to monetize all the inventory and fixtures inside of its six shuttered locations and warehouse.
Hyper Group financially guaranteed the minimum recovery on the assets, effectively shifting a significant portion of the risk of the sale process from the bankruptcy estate to us. We then proceeded to hire back store and warehouse staff and engineered the re-opening of four out of the Company’s original six stores to run retail Going Out of Business (GOB) sales. Throughout the entire sale Hyper Group personnel maintained full operational control, pushing inventory out of the Company’s warehouse and closed stores to the open stores, managing in-store pricing and staffing, and turning the buildings over to the respective landlords upon GOB sale completion.
Hyper Group successfully navigated the operational complexities of re-opening these shuttered stores to run the GOB sale. Despite challenges along the way, sale results met expectations and provided superior return to the bankruptcy estate.
