Associate/Senior Associate – Diligence Services

Location: Remote/hybrid; preference for candidates near our Chicago, IL office

Position Summary

Hyper Group is seeking an Associate or Senior Associate to join our Diligence Services team. This role supports lender diligence engagements by analyzing accounts receivable, inventory, and related financial data for asset‑based lending facilities.

Candidates will receive on‑the‑job training from experienced lending diligence professionals and gain exposure to a wide range of industries and financial structures. This position is well suited for professionals with 1-5 years of experience in accounting, finance, or financial advisory roles who are interested in growing within a boutique firm.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform field examinations for bank and non‑bank lenders in support of asset‑based loan facilities
• Analyze borrower accounts receivable, inventory, accounts payable, cash, and financial statements
• Assist with on‑site inventory counts, as needed
• Discuss business trends and drivers impacting sales and gross margin with clients
• Organize and standardize company‑provided data in Microsoft Excel
• Collaborate with report writers to support final diligence reports

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, auditing, or a related field
• CPA preferred but not required
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word; ability to learn proprietary systems
• Ability to read and interpret financial statements
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Highly organized, detail‑oriented, and deadline‑driven
• Self-directed, with ability to manage shifting priorities across multiple projects
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
• Valid driver’s license and access to a personal vehicle
• Willingness to travel occasionally (30.0%).
